Founder & CEO, Human Risks

Mads Pærregaard has spent his life on the front line of security risk management. He founded Human Risks as the culmination, where he seeks to codify everything he learned. He started his professional life training at the Royal Danish Military Academy, then served in demanding operational roles, including Second in Command at FOB Armadillo in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, and Officer in Command of the Close Protection Team at the Danish Embassy in Baghdad. From there he advised on security as a Regional Security Adviser for the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mads then moved into the private sector, rising through senior security leadership at Nokas, from Head of Security & Audit to Director of Business Services and on to Chief Operating Officer. In 2016 he founded Human Risks, building a practitioner's perspective into the platform security and resilience teams rely on every day. Mads thinks about security the way a practitioner does, and he built Human Risks the same way: technology that supports the people doing the work and keeps their judgement in control.
